On Saturday, I went to see my bro, Steve Harris and we reminisced over how God had been good to us. As we spoke, we also went over our years of struggle in business long before this phase.

For a number of years, we had it rough and we kept wondering 'when would our hard work pay off'. We laughed over the fact that some think we are overnight successes. Oh! little do they know.

That evening as I drove home, I asked 'why did it have to take time? Then I heard in my heart 'it depends on what you are building'

You see the architectural plan for your life is in God's hands. So he knows the SIZE of the building and if it is massive, he knows you need to keep going DOWN before you go UP.

Building a foundation is the least noticeable part of the building. Invariably, you are working hard (going down) with little visible results (going up). Whilst this is happening, do not fret at other people's visible results if you are building a skyscraper.

The same way buildings 'show up' because we did not notice what was going on behind the covering and scaffolding, that is precisely how you would show up and people would assume you are an 'overnight success'.

So again I ask 'What are you building?'. Keep this in mind whenever you feel the urge to complain or compare yourself with others.
